We're Hiring a Bookstore Manager!

Job Title: Bookstore Manager

Reports To: Store Owner

Hours: Full Time/40 hours, with overtime potential

Underbrush Books is looking to hire a full-time manager for an exciting new retail opportunity. This individual will work directly with the store owners to expand product categories, increase the frequency of bookstore events, and meet 5-year growth goals. 

We seek a book lover who wants to work directly with and build relationships with our book club members, daily customers, and community partners through recommendations, programming, and a welcoming, inclusive in-store environment.

Specific Duties:

• Day-to-day operations, including sales
• Manage bookstore organization and display design, including restocking, straightening displays, and reorganizing backstock
• Manage daily inventory, including placing restock orders, validating shipments and damages, and entering new inventory into Point of Sale systems
• Assist store owners with seasonal and special event buying
• Assist store owners with monthly book clubs and other bookstore events
• This position will also be responsible for creating and coordinating one event per quarter
• Assist with in-store marketing, including shelf-talkers, temporary collections, staff pick and new-release displays
• Assist with online marketing, including updating Bookshop.org and Libro.fm collections, as well as contributing to newsletters and social media
• Help grow our team, including participation in interviews, job descriptions

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of bookseller experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Details:

• Hourly position (38-40 hours per week)
• Starting at $18/hr with an annual review
• 14 days vacation, 5 days sick leave
