We're hiring a weekend bookseller!

Job Title: Part-Time Bookseller (Saturday + Sundays)

Reports To: Manager

Hours: Part Time (14-16 hr/wk)

Underbrush Books is looking to hire a part-time bookseller to join our team! This individual will work directly with the store manager and work with the owners to expand and meet the store’s goals. This individual will work with customers to give book recommendations, help the team expand knowledge in specific product categories, and help with the organization of bookstore events.

We seek a bookseller who wants to work directly with and build relationships with our week customers and community partners through recommendations, programming, and creating a welcoming, inclusive in-store environment.

Specific Duties:

• Saturday + Sunday sales and customer service
• Help with upkeep, bookstore organization and display design, including restocking, straightening displays, and reorganizing back-stock
  
• Help us curate and maintain a diverse and appealing collection of books ensuring our selection aligns with the interests and preferences of our customer base.
• This might include staying updated on industry trends, emerging authors, and new releases within your preferred genre/category.
• Contribute at least one indie-next blurb per month.
• Assist with monthly book clubs and other bookstore events
• This position will have the opportunity to lead their own book club or event series, but this is not a requirement
• Assist with in-store marketing, including shelf-talkers, temporary collections, staff pick and new-release displays
• Possibility to assist with social media marketing, as well as contributing to newsletters and blog posts

Requirements:

• Must be at least 19 years of age

Details:

• Hourly position for Saturday + Sundays
  • Occasional weekday shifts may be available
• Starting at $13/hr with an annual review for raise
